For reporters

The honesty pledge

Someone's peace of mind, and possibly their future, depends on what you share. Here's what we ask.

"Say what you know. Say how you know it. Don't guess, and don't exaggerate."

  • Truthful. Share only what you personally know to be true, or what you can show.
  • Specific. Dates, places and context help a reviewer understand what happened. Vague claims can't be reviewed.
  • Sourced. Tell us how you came by the information: were you involved, did you see it, or were you told?
  • Not a weapon. DnS is for helping someone make an informed choice. It is not for revenge, harassment or settling scores.
  • Accountable. Your identity is verified and kept on file. It is never shown to the member, but knowingly false reports are grounds for removal and may have legal consequences.
